Twenty-eight
(28) bricks/blocks of cocaine weighing approximately
2.5 lbs each, with a total weight of approximately
80 lbs, and a street value estimated at 1.5 million
dollars, washed up on Navarre
Beach .
On
07/10/2004 , at approximately 1600 hours, State
Park Employees discovered a large bale of possible
narcotics approximately 50 feet past the east
border of the state park, near the water's edge.
When Deputies arrived on scene they discovered
a bale that had been cut open and could see numerous
brick/block items in the bale that were wrapped
in plastic. The Sheriff's Office Narcotics
Unit responded and conducted a preliminary field
test on the substance. The substance tested
positive for cocaine. The cocaine was then
photographed ,weighed and placed into evidence.
No arrests have been made at this time
and the investigation is still ongoing.
