DRUGS WASH UP ON NAVARRE BEACH

Twenty-eight (28) bricks/blocks of cocaine weighing approximately 2.5 lbs each, with a total weight of approximately 80 lbs, and a street value estimated at 1.5 million dollars, washed up on Navarre Beach .

On 07/10/2004 , at approximately 1600 hours, State Park Employees discovered a large bale of possible narcotics approximately 50 feet past the east border of the state park, near the water's edge.   When Deputies arrived on scene they discovered a bale that had been cut open and could see numerous brick/block items in the bale that were wrapped in plastic.   The Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit responded and conducted a preliminary field test on the substance.   The substance tested positive for cocaine.   The cocaine was then photographed ,weighed and placed into evidence.   No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is still ongoing.   Anyone with information concerning this case is asked to call Santa Rosa Crime Stoppers at 437-STOP.
