Sheriff Wendell Hall and State Attorney
Bill Eddins have joined hands with the "Retired Seniors Volunteer
Program", better known as RSVP, to help bring about a positive change
in the lives of Santa Rosa County's senior citizens. Recently the
program opened up the "Help Thy Neighbors" Volunteer Center with
a ribbon cutting ceremony. The program's mission is to "commission
citizens to work interactively through volunteerism, to strengthen
the lives of individuals, their families and our community." Their
purpose is to support volunteer management in times of crisis and
also to promote volunteerism in Santa Rosa County. In addition to
increasing the number of volunteers, within the county, they also
wish to prepare the volunteers to clean up after disasters, care
for our military, and assist seniors to be better prepared in a
crisis situation. Both Sheriff Hall and SA Bill Eddins have provided
representatives from their respective agencies to serve with the
RSVP board and to assist their program in education and training
needs. This would include educational programs on senior neglect
and abuse, senior scams, and senior financial exploitation. Click
