Inmates Receive GED Certificates

On February 2, 2006 Sheriff Wendell Hall handed out GED certificates to several inmates after their completion of all of the general education requirements. Each inmate was given a pre-test to determine what their grade level was and then they began attending classes, which lasted anywhere from three to nine months determining on the amount of work that needed to be completed. Awards were handed out to Paul Peloquin Jr., Terrell Rice, John M. Wallace, Ashlee Aud, Steven Harter, and Carl Johnson. Other inmates received their certificates but were not at the ceremony at the time. Sheriff Hall has encouraged all inmates to take advantage of educational opportunities and self improvement programs in order to better prepare themselves to enter the work force as citizens of Santa Rosa County. Sheriff Hall handed out the awards to each graduate along with their teacher Ms. Sherry Gonzalez, accompanied by Ms. Donna Christoper, principal of the Adult Schools, and Ms. Courtney Sasse, the Adult Learning Center Facilitator.
