Sheriff Endorses Family Day

Sheriff Wendell Hall and the members of the Santa Rosa Sheriff's Office would like to challenge the public to pledge to eat dinner with your family on Monday September 25, 2006 to promote Florida's Family Day. The purpose of the event is to help promote family dinners as an effective way to reduce substance abuse among children and teens. Research has shown that the more often children eat dinner with their families the less likely they are to smoke, drink or use drugs. These children also have lower levels of tension and stress at home, are more likely to confide in their parents, obtain better grades at school, and have more positive peer relationships as well as being emotionally content.
