Search Warrant Yields Crack Cocaine, Powder Cocaine, and Marijuana in Gulf Breeze

 

On 11/06/07 at approximately 1700 hours, Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Narcotics Deputies raided the home of Derrick King located in the 5800 block of Supreme Street, Gulf Breeze, FL. The search warrant was obtained after an investigation into narcotics related activities occurring at King's address involving King. Immediately as deputies entered the home, they noticed a strong smell of burnt marijuana inside. As soon as King heard deputies coming in through the front door, he ran out the back door where he was immediately met by awaiting deputies at the rear of the home. King was detained at that time. When deputies searched the home, they discovered numerous plastic baggies of marijuana which totaled 147 grams, a digital scale, a plastic bag of powder cocaine which totaled 33.2 grams, and a “cookie” of crack cocaine which totaled 12.6 grams. Numerous other items used in the distribution and use of narcotics were also located at the residence as well as approximately $1500.00 in cash. King was arrested on the below mentioned charges and transported to the Santa Rosa County Jail with a $50,500.00 bond. King posted bond later that evening.
