Deputies Save Drowning Juvenile

On September 8, 2007 at 1330 hours, three deputies from the Santa Rosa Sheriff's Office responded to a call in reference to someone struggling in the Intercoastal Waterway in Gulf Breeze. Upon arrival Sgt. Jeremy Snow directed Deputies Richard Aloy and Tim Lynch to commandeer a boat to try and reach the individual before he disappeared below the surface. With Sgt. Snow and Deputy Lynch directing from the shore through the use of a pair of binoculars, Aloy proceeded with the boat's owner to the spot approximately 100 yards from shore where the victim was trying to stay afloat. Aloy was able to pull the young male victim from the water and transport him to shore where he received medical attention. The victim was dressed in long pants, a tee shirt, and high top sneakers at the time of his recovery. When rescued the victim was delirious therefore was turned over to medical authorities. The quick actions of the three deputies involved definitely saved the life of this young victim according to Sheriff Wendell Hall.
