Elderly
Woman Missing After Wandering From Her Home in Pace
On
1/22/07, Sheriff's Deputies responded to the 4300 block of Chalet
Circle, Pace, FL, regarding an elderly woman who was missing from
her residence. The woman, 67 year old Clara Monteith, lives at the
residence with her adult daughter. Monteith has the onset of Alzheimer's
disease. She has wandered away from the home on prior occasions,
but has been found within a short distance from her home. Monteith
left her residence sometime between 0800 hours and 1130 hours. Her
daughter noticed that some items were missing from Monteith's room.
It is believed that Monteith took these items with her when she
wandered away from the residence. These items are a green duffel
bag, a green plastic tote bag, and a trash bag that was kept by
her bed. Monteith is not very familiar with the Pace area, and according
to relatives she frequents the Woodbine McDonalds, and Red Barn
Barbeque on Hwy. 90. Monteith doesn't have any kind of transportation.
Monteith has been entered as a missing person, and her family along
with the Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating
her. Anyone with information concerning her whereabouts is asked
to call the Sheriff's Office at 983-1190. A description and photograph
of Monteith is attached to this email.
