PRESS RELEASE

7/18/07

Pace Man Arrested for Possessing and Transmitting Child Pornography over the Internet

On July 17, 2007, Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office Investigators arrested a Pace man, Alan McKinley (38 years old) for possessing and transmitting child pornography over the internet. On June 26, 2007, Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office Investigators and other members of the North Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force served a search warrant at McKinley's residence located in the 5000 Block of East Spencerfield Road, Pace, FL in reference to child pornography. An internet investigation began earlier this year that led ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) investigators to this residence. The investigation showed that a computer at this address had been involved in sharing video and picture files with other online users depicting explicit images of child pornography. McKinley was interviewed and stated that he was the one responsible for the sharing of files on the computer that depicted child pornography. All of McKinley's computer equipment was seized and forensically examined by Sheriff's Office investigators. Once this was completed, a judge issued an arrest warrant for McKinley for the below mentioned charges due to the images that were present on McKinley's computer. McKinley turned himself in to investigators and was arrested on July 17 th on the active warrant. McKinley was released from the Santa Rosa County Jail on a $50,000.00 bond, with special conditions that he have no access to computers or the internet.

The Santa Rosa Sheriff's Office is a member of the North Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, one of 45 federally funded units nationwide that investigate Internet crimes against children.
