TWO
ARMED ROBBERIES AT THE SAME STORE IN NAVARRE
IN 6 DAYS: SEPARATE STORE ROBBED LAST NIGHT AT GUN
POINT
IN
GULF BREEZE
The
same convenience store has been robbed once again in Navarre. The
Quick Stop located at 2515 Hwy 87 South (corner of Segura Street
) was robbed today at approximately 1:45 pm. A black male suspect,
described below, walked into the store armed with a black handgun
and demanded all of the money from the female clerk, which was the
same clerk that was working when the store was robbed on 1/21/07.
The suspect also demanded Newport cigarettes. After receiving the
money and the cigarettes, the suspect took the store phone, and
left so the clerk could not call law enforcement. After the suspect
was clearly out of sight, the clerk called law enforcement by utilizing
another phone. Deputies arrived and were unsuccessful with a K-9
track due to the weather and the probability of the suspect having
a vehicle nearby. Although there are similarities between both robberies
at this store, it is not known if the same suspect is responsible.
The suspect from today's robbery is described as a black male, early
twenties, 6' 02", walking with a limp, and left handed. He was wearing
a tan hoodie and a white t-shirt with long pants.
Another
robbery occurred last night at approximately 9:15
pm at the Quick Stop located
on Hwy. 98 at Bal Alex subdivision. This same store was robbed at
gunpoint on December 26th. During last nights robbery, the black
male suspect, described as early 20's, concealing his face with
a white type of sweater, walked into the store and demanded money
and Newport cigarettes. He was also armed with a handgun. Before
the suspect left the store, he took the store phone so the clerk
couldn't call law enforcement. The clerk was able to utilize a different
phone to call authorities to alert them of the robbery. A possible
suspect vehicle is a dark blue or black, Kia or Saturn, four door
sedan. No one was hurt in any of the robberies. Today's robbery
and last night's robbery have many similarities. Surveillance photos
are not available for the store robbery from last night. Photographs
from today's robbery are attached to this email.
Sheriff's
Office Investigators investigating this string of robberies are
asking for the public's help in identifying the suspects. Anyone
with information is asked to call the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's
Office at 983-1190, or Santa Rosa County Crime Stoppers at 437-STOP.
Anyone providing information that leads to the arrest of the suspect
is eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.
