Mary Esther Man Arrested on Capital Sexual Battery Charges on Juvenile

07-02-2007, Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Investigators arrested Kevin Brian Bass (33 years old) on charges of Capital Sexual Battery on a victim under 12 years of age. The charges stemmed from an incident that occurred in Navarre during the middle of June 2007, while Bass babysat for a juvenile, under the age of twelve. The victim disclosed to a parent that Bass had forced him to perform sexual acts on Bass while they were in the bathroom at the residence of the juvenile. Bass allegedly gave the juvenile money for this performance. When this incident occurred, the father of the juvenile came home from a business trip and found that Bass and the juvenile were in the bathroom together with the door shut. Bass told the father that they were using the bathroom. The bathroom that they were in had no light bulb, and the toilet was non-operational. The father saw that his son was standing in the bathtub. Bass then left and returned to his residence in Mary Esther. The incident was then reported to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office. After an investigation, a warrant was issued by a judge and Bass was arrested for the above mentioned charge and is currently being held at the Santa Rosa County Jail on a $750,000.00 bond.
