USED CAR LOT BURGLARY/SHOOTING IN GULF BREEZE

On 01/06/07, Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to OBO AUTO SALES located at 3222 FORDHAM PKWY, GULF BREEZE, FL, in reference to a burglary/shooting. Upon arrival, deputies were told that the victim went to Sacred Heart Hospital with a gunshot wound to the thigh. The investigation revealed the following. During the late night hours of 01/06/07, an employee of OBO Auto Sales was driving by the business and noticed that a light was on inside and there was a vehicle present that he was not familiar with. The employee went to check on this and found that a male subject was inside the business burglarizing the establishment. An argument ensued, at which time the male suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the employee in the thigh. The employee then went to hospital for treatment. The suspect was not located. The victim was treated and released. The investigation is ongoing. No suspect or victim information is being released at this time. As soon as this information is releasable, an update will be sent out via press release. NO FURTHER INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE.
