Sheriff's Office Enters Fair Exhibits

The Santa Rosa County fair opened on April 3rd and will run through April 8th at the East Milton Recreation Park near the intersection of Highway 87 and 90. The Santa Rosa Sheriff's Office entered a display as they do every year and this year was to be no different. This year's theme was "Crime Doesn't Pay" and featured a mock cell constructed from some of the old steel jail doors taken from the former jail before it was demolished in 2006. Information was made available for the public concerning all of the privileges and freedom that is lost to a citizen upon incarceration in a detention facility. The display won Sheriff Wendell Hall a "second place" ribbon for its uniqueness and message.
