NAVARRE CONVENIENCE STORE ROBBED AT GUN POINT PRESS RELEASE

 

On 1/21/07 , shortly after1600 hours, the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office was called to 2515 Hwy 87 South (Quick Stop Convenience Store at the corner of 87 South and Segura Street ) in reference to an armed robbery. When deputies arrived, the female clerk at the store stated that a black male suspect entered the store and immediately brandished a handgun, pointing it at the clerk as he demanded money from the cash register, as well as cigarettes. The female clerk complied with the armed suspect, giving him an undisclosed amount of money and Newport Cigarettes. As soon as the suspect got the money and cigarettes, he left the store on foot. It is believed that the suspect got into a vehicle waiting close by. No vehicle description is available at this time. No one was hurt during the robbery. Santa Rosa County Sheriff's K-9, as well as Escambia County Sheriff's Office Helicopter "Air 1" assisted in the search for the suspect. The suspect is described as a black male, possibly in his early 20's, slender build, wearing a hooded sweatshirt which was pulled over his head. No other information is known at this time concerning the suspect or the incident. Sheriff's Office Investigators are investigating the robbery and are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office at 983-1190, or Santa Rosa County Crime Stoppers at 437-STOP. Anyone providing information that leads to the arrest of the suspect is eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.
