PRESS RELEASE

7/23/08

Sheriff's Office Looking for Suspects Responsible for Theft of Electronics from Wal-Mart

Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office Investigators are asking for the public's help identifying two suspects that were caught on surveillance cameras stealing flat screen televisions from a Wal-Mart in Pace, Florida. The theft was discovered on July 14, 2008 , after Wal-Mart employees noticed that the chain link fence enclosing the Garden Center had been cut with bolt cutters. Store personnel then reviewed surveillance video and found that two white males that were inside the store had removed three televisions from the electronics department and placed them in the lawn and garden department. The subjects then left the store and returned a short time later, approaching the Garden Center from the outside. The two suspects then used bolt cutters to cut through the fence and remove the three televisions. This occurred during the early morning hours, after the Garden Center area of the store was closed. A Wal-Mart store on Mobile Highway in Escambia County suffered a theft by the same two suspects on the same date. During that incident, the same two suspects took several computers by staging them in the Garden Center and returning for them later. They then used bolt cutters to cut through the fence and removed the computers.

Anyone with information concerning the suspects is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 981-2235 or Santa Rosa County Crime Stoppers at 437-STOP. Anyone providing information which results in the arrest of the suspects is eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000.00. Photographs of both suspects are attached to this email.
