On June 3, 2009, the Community Drug and Alcohol Council presented Santa Rosa Sheriff's Office Crime Prevention Specialist Cindy Sarver with the “Spirit of Prevention Award.” The award was presented at their annual luncheon. “This award reflects the tireless efforts and dedication by Ms. Sarver in the arena of prevention in serving our community” stated Dr. Gail E. Honea, CEO/Executive Director of the council. Ms. Sarver has been working in the field of crime prevention throughout her many years of service for the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office. She has worked diligently to form numerous collaborative partnerships that have been beneficial to the constituents of Northwest Florida. In addition to her efforts in the field of crime prevention, Ms. Sarver serves on the newly formed SAFER disaster team Board of Directors for the county, the NWFL Prevention Coalition, the Family Law Advisory Board, the Milton Girls Juvenile Residential Treatment Center Board, the Tobacco Free Coalition, the CEO Roundtable, and numerous other groups. In January 2009, Ms. Sarver was also the recipient of an award from the American Youth Association for her efforts in serving the youth of Santa Rosa County.
