Shooting at Navarre Investigated

At 2004 hours, Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to 7056 Lago Mirado Drive, Navarre, FL, in reference to a shooting.  Dispatchers were told that a juvenile had accidently shot another juvenile in the leg with a rifle.  Deputies and emergency personnel arrived on scene shortly after.  The juvenile victim was transported by ambulance to Sacred Heart Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Investigators and Crime Scene Technicians responded and are currently conducting an investigation into the shooting.  Preliminary reports indicate that the shooting was accidental, and that the juvenile with the rifle was showing it to his friends and was not aware that it was loaded. No further information is available at this time.
