Sheriff Honors Agency Volunteers

Sheriff Wendell Hall recently gave recognition to three volunteers that have sacrificed numerous hours at the Sheriff's Office. The volunteers are recruited through the Senior Community Employment Program, where the Sheriff's Office is a "Host Agency." This program is directed by the National Caucus and Center on Black and Aged, Inc. The NCBA-SCSEP is funded directly by the U.S. Department of Labor under Title V of the Older Americans Act in order to provide part time training for low income persons age 55 or older. They "train" twenty hours a week while searching for a job. They are paid minimum wage under the above mentioned funding program and cannot be used to fill any job vacancy at the Sheriff's Office. The three workers that were given Certificates of Appreciation are as follows: Bruce Hopkins, works in the Jail in the Programs Division (1730 hours); Marise Adams, works the front desk (1094 hours); and Alysia Taylor, works in evidence (250 hours). Sheriff Hall and his staff give thanks to our volunteers for their dedicated service to the agency. Click here for a photo.
