Sheriff's
Office Warns Public About Door to Door Salvation Army Scam in Milton
The
Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office wants to make the public aware
of a few instances that occurred in the Milton area involving door
to door solicitation. Within the past week, a white female (described
below) has gone door to door soliciting donations for the Salvation
Army. When the Sheriff's Office was contacted about this activity,
deputies contacted representatives from the Salvation Army. The
Salvation Army assured the Sheriff's Office that this was a scam,
and that the Salvation Army does not solicit door to door for donations.
Anyone having similar problems in the future is urged to contact
their local law enforcement agency.
