Physician Prescription Drug Training

January 25, 2012: 2 hour Training: 5:30 pm Meet & Greet

6-7 pm (1) Hr. Presentation followed by Q&A Session

Location: Santa Rosa Medical Center

The Physicians would like training on:

1 hour presentation on #1, #2, #3 by Rick Zenuch (Purdue Pharm)

•  Federal and some State Legal Statutes

•  Prescription Monitoring System in Florida

•  Most commonly used Prescription Drugs in the state

•  Most commonly used Prescription Drugs in our Counties? (hand-out with this information)

 i. CDAC has youth data

ii. CDAC will provide adult data

 iii. CDAC will provide infant born addicted data

 iv. Methadone Clinic information

•  How to recognize patients that are drug seeking (hand-outs)

•  An example of a drug screening tool.

i. CDAC will provide two examples; one from NIDA and one from PainEdu. Also, will see what their addiction specialist uses.

•  What our local law enforcement are seeing on the street. (Question and Answer Session – 30 minutes). Panel to have representatives from:

•  Santa Rosa Sheriff's Office

•  Milton Police Department

•  Gulf Breeze Police Department

•  Escambia County Sheriff's Office

•  Pensacola Police Department

** The same type of training is also being provided at Sacred Heart Hospital for physicians in Escambia County .
