Multiple Residential Burglaries Being Investigated in Milton

Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office investigators are asking for the public's help in order to solve a recent string of residential burglaries. Since Jan 15 th there have been seven (7) reported daytime burglaries in the Milton Area. Five (5) occurred between Milton and Whiting Field (2 on Trail Ride North, 1 on Hickorywood Drive, 1 on Divot Lane, 1 on Running Iron) and two (2) were reported today in East Milton – 1 on Cox Road and the other on Persimmon Hollow Road. The burglaries are occurring between hours of 9am and 3 pm and target homes where it appears no one is home. It is believed the persons responsible are knocking on doors to verify if anyone is home. If a homeowner comes to the door, the suspects ask if any yard work is needed or gives some other reason for being there. In the same area as the burglaries, neighbors have reported a white male in his early 20s with brown hair asking about doing yard work. In another case, a young white female with reddish blonde hair also asked about yard work.In all of the burglaries, entry is made through the back door and the following items taken range from: guns, money, laptops, cameras, jewelry, medications, beer/liquor, food and toilet paper.A possible suspect vehicle is described as an older small black pick up truck extended cab with tinted windows, possibly a Ford Ranger.Anyone having information on these crimes or similar suspicious circumstances in their neighborhood is asked to contact the Santa Rosa County Sheriff Office or Crime Stoppers at 437-STOP.
