Marijuana
Growing Season Begins: Narcotics Officers Locate Crop of Approximately
5000 Plants in Jay
Santa
Rosa County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Deputies have located a large
marijuana crop in the north end of Santa Rosa County . Early on
the morning of March 19, 2008 , Narcotics deputies found approximately
5000 plants in a wooded area near Juniper Creek Road and Country
Mill Road in the Jay area. Due to the growing season just kicking
off, the plants were only a few inches tall. All of the plants were
removed by deputies and are being taken for evidence and disposal.
The plants that were found would yield approximately $5,000,000.00
street value of marijuana. Sheriff Hall and his Narcotics deputies
will continue to be extremely proactive in the eradication of marijuana
in Santa Rosa County throughout the entire growing season. The investigation
into who is responsible for the illegal activity is continuing.
No suspects have been arrested at this time. No further information
is available at the time of this release. For photos click
