UPDATE: Wife of Navarre Sex Crime Suspect Arrested For Child Neglect

Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office investigators have arrested the wife of a Navarre man after her husband was arrested on 3/05/09 for sexual battery of a minor. Tony Gibbs had been arrested after an investigation revealed that he had been sexually abusing four juveniles. The investigation later revealed that Tony Gibbs wife, Carey Gibbs, had been approached by one of the victims and told that the juvenile was being sexually abused by Tony Gibbs. The investigation revealed that Carey Gibbs was told this three to four times by the victim over the past year. Carey Gibbs confronted her husband, and he denied the allegations. Carey Gibbs failed to report the allegations to law enforcement or DCF. A few days after Carey Gibbs last confronted Tony Gibbs about the allegations, Tony Gibbs made admissions to his wife, and she still failed to report this to law enforcement or DCF. Due to Carey Gibbs failure to report the inappropriate sexual activity to authorities, and allowing the victim to remain in this environment, Carey Gibbs was arrested for two counts of Felony Child Neglect. She was arrested yesterday evening in Navarre . She was released from the Santa Rosa County Jail on a $5000.00 bond. A photograph of Tony Gibbs and Carey Gibbs is attached to this email.
