Convenience Store Robbed at Gunpoint
The
Sheriff's Office is investigating a robbery that occurred early
this morning in East Milton.
Shortly before 0600 hours, Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Deputies
responded to a hold up alarm at the Shell Station located at 8981
Highway 87 South (I-10 and Hwy 87 South). Upon arrival, the clerk
stated that she had just been robbed by a suspect brandishing a
shotgun wearing a ski mask. The suspect was described as a black
male, approximately 6 feet tall, dressed in black knee length shorts,
a dark jacket, black and white gloves, tennis shoes (possibly Converse
brand), and a red ski type mask. The suspect came in the store and
came around the counter armed with a shotgun, appearing to have
a pistol grip. The suspect pointed the shotgun at the clerk and
demanded all of the money from the cash register. The clerk complied
and the suspect exited the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect fled south, and possibly entered a dark colored 2 door
vehicle with a tag that appeared to have some type of dark film
over the plate. No one was injured during the robbery. No suspects
are known at this time. A video of the robbery is attached to this
email. Investigators are asking anyone with information about the
robbery to contact the Sheriff's Office at 983-1190 or Santa Rosa
County Crime Stoppers at 437-STOP. Information provided to Crime
Stoppers that leads to the arrest of the suspect can result in a
cash reward of up to $1000.00.
