Breeze Man Arrested for Killing and Mutilating Dog
On
August 1, 2010, the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office was dispatched
to the 2443
Reservation Road
in reference to the homeowner making a 911 call stating that his
son had killed the family dog. Upon arrival, Deputies met with the
suspect, Matthew Foote. Foote was very calm and cooperative and
started making random statements about “evil people” and substances
being “put in the water”. Foote then told deputies that he killed
his pet dog “Sasha”, a seven year old Dachshund Chihuahua
mix, and burying her in the woods. Foote told deputies that he didn't
know why he killed his dog except that he thought that it was “Satan”.
Foote said that he first slit the dog's throat with a knife, and
it did not die. Foote then stabbed Sasha approximately three or
four times in the chest, and the dog did not die. Foote then suffocated
the dog until it died. Foote then took the dog into the back yard
and skinned it, before throwing her into a shallow grave which he
dug. Foote then poured gasoline on the animal and burned it. A bag
containing the dog's skin and entrails were found in a wooded area
near the grave. Foote continued to show no emotion during the incident.
Foote was arrested for felony animal cruelty and transported to
the Santa Rosa County Jail. He is being held with no bond. A photograph
of Foote is attached to this email. A copy of the arrest report
is also attached to this email.
