SRSO Dive Team Gets Hands-On Training

As patrol units and SWAT teams add more and more realism to their training, so are other units within the Santa Rosa Sheriff's Office. Sheriff Hall is requiring that all units within the agency receive as much training as possible that closely resembles what his law enforcement and detention deputies are going to experience in the performance of their duties. The SRSO dive team is responsible for search and rescue operations as well as recovery of evidence. In some situations visibility is practically non-existent, yet they are still required to conduct grid searches to recover murder weapons, etc. To this end, the dive team commanders try to hold training on a monthly basis as their schedule permits. Unlike other types of training there is little room for error when diving deep into murky unknown waters. For photos please click here.
