Leads to Arrest and Capture of Wanted Robber From Navarre
A
disturbance yesterday evening in Navarre
lead to
the arrest of a suspect that was wanted in a local armed robbery.
Robert Rosado, 32 years old, was arrested for the robbery of the
Days Inn in Navarre,
after pointing a firearm at another individual then fleeing from
deputies in a vehicle last night. The incident began yesterday evening
(October 19 th ) at approximately 1900 hours. Sheriff's Office dispatch
was advised that a male suspect (Rosado) had pointed a gun at an
individual on Segura
Street
in Navarre
. Rosado
left the area with a white female in a white Ford Explorer. The
victim of the assault followed Rosado in his vehicle, relaying information
regarding Rosado's whereabouts to dispatch. Deputies responding
to the call recognized Rosado's name as one being a suspect in the
recent robbery of the Days Inn in Navarre
on 10/14/09
. Rosado
had been identified earlier in the day (October 19 th ) as being
the suspect of that armed robbery. Deputies were able to locate
Rosado in his vehicle on Highway 98, just inside of Okaloosa
County
. When
Rosado saw the Sheriff's Office vehicles, he accelerated at a high
rate of speed and began to swerve in and out of traffic in a reckless
fashion. While deputies could see him in the distance, Rosado lost
control of his vehicle and flipped. His vehicle ended up upside
down in a culvert on the north side of Highway 98 at the intersection
of Spring Gate
Court .
Rosado was ejected from the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot
before being apprehended by Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office Deputies.
Rosado was initially transported by Life Flight to Baptist
Hospital
for his
injuries, but he was later released into the custody of the Escambia
County Sheriff's Office for the outstanding warrants for the robbery
that occurred at the Day's Inn
. Once
Rosado was booked into the Escambia County Jail, he was transported
to the Santa Rosa County Jail where he is currently held with no
bond. The female passenger in the vehicle was treated and released
from a local hospital. No charges are pending against the female
at this time. Rosado is also suspected as being the perpetrator
of the armed robbery that occurred at Coastal Bank and Trust in
Navarre
on 10/17/09
. Charges
are pending against Rosado in that case. The investigation into
the assault that occurred on Segura
Street
is ongoing. A mug shot of Rosado is attached to this email. Two
photographs of the crash are also attached to this email. The Florida
Highway Patrol is investigating the traffic crash. Rosado was charged
with grand theft and robbery with a firearm. He remains in the Santa
Rosa County Jail with no bond.
