Santa Rosa Narcotics Detectives Arrest 14 Suspects During Warrant Round-Up

Fourteen suspects have been arrested after the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit conducted a warrant round-up on 3/05/08 . Narcotics detectives have been conducting a year long investigation into numerous subjects involved in the illegal sale of prescription medications throughout the county. During the investigation, evidence was gathered against the suspects which yielded arrest warrants on the individuals responsible. Narcotics detectives formed teams that traveled to different locations throughout the county in order to round up the individuals responsible for the narcotics related charges. While searching for these individuals, several other suspects were located that had outstanding warrants from other jurisdictions. They were also taken into custody. Narcotics detectives ended the round-up by conducting a search warrant at a room located at the Emerald Sands Inn on Highway 90 in Milton . During the search warrant, three individuals were arrested for charges including possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Statistics show that the abuse of prescription drugs to get high continues to become increasingly prevalent among teens and young adults. Past year abuse of prescription pain killers now ranks second, only behind marijuana, as the Nation's most prevalent illegal drug problem. Sheriff Wendell Hall is committed to cleaning up the community and ridding it of suspects that are committing any type of illegal activity. The Narcotics Unit is still working this investigation and more arrests are expected in the future. Photographs of all suspects arrested are attached to this email.
